An Atheist on Evangelism

I am subscribed to  Josh Harris's blog and watched the following video today. 

How pleased the Lord must be with His servant, the man who gave that Bible! I could not help but thinking that should the Lord open Penn's eyes one day, what he will feel when he remembers the man... how he might search out that small Bible, read it, and be forever changed.

10For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven
and do not return there but water the earth,
making it bring forth and sprout,
giving seed to the sower and bread to the eater,
11so shall my word be that goes out from my mouth;

Completion & Preparation

Tomorrow: high school evaluation, long awaited and well-planned for. I'm ready. Math wasn't fabulous and chemistry could have been better; but hey, music and drama is pretty nice and honors English is great... and I survived APUSH. I didn't flunk! I learned much this year; and this week I've still been absorbing the lessons as I look back over everything and see it come to an end. 

YOUTH CAMP.

I love camp. 

It's neat to be saying that going into camp, instead of while coming away as I did last year. 

God is working in my heart. I am SO excited and that excitement is increasing each day. My stomach starts fluttering and I become speechless when I really delve into the emotions surrounding this part of the summer. I desire to meet God and am expectant that He will be there because He's already here, now, today, yesterday, Sunday. 

The supremacy of Christ is becoming evident in my life through situations, responses and conversations. I am waiting and hoping that God expands on the power found in that concept at camp. 

One more reason for excitement: A girl from our softball team is coming to camp! An uncanny and relaxed conversation led to an invitation which turned into action. God is just too cool.

Back to the Music

Death Cab for Cutie folks. This song started it all. I havent listened to much of them, but from what I've heard I think the style is great. They're earned a place in the entertainment list.

In other music news: I spent two hours last night painting cardboard tubes for the game Anna and I are doing for the festival Sunday and then cleaning and organizing the main room of the basement. You cant walk in the closet [you couldnt do that before I cleaned the main room though] and the laundry room is pretty messy. But all the coats by the door look neat and the bookeshelves look prim. Oh I was talking about music--that whole two hours was spent jamming to 70's tunes. Groovy. ;-) James Taylor, Marvin Gaye, Cat Stevens. Your basic Remember the Titan's soundtrack. Love it.

Tonight: get ready; get set...spread the gospel! The kick-off's at 7pm. Excited. So very excited.

YPCG- Exciting Times

whoo hoo! aw man was youth group good last night. Worship w/ N.R., awesome surprise. followed by several small annoucements and Mr P. trying to avoid and save the sad, sad annoucement about youth camp for very last. I dont think what Mr Pierson was saying sunk in until I was in my bed last night thinking my last thoughts before dreamland. As far as it looks right now, I wont be able to go to the youth camp that I've heard D.S. talk about so much. the youth camp that is amazing and a blast of fun. I found myself sad that I might not get to have a youth camp shirt. No big, bumper ball; no phenomenal worship with teens completely surrounding me.

It'll be different.
I've never been good with change. The changes that the Lord has brought to me lately have been kinda cool. They've so far had a really great side to them, a silver lining, which has helped that part of my nature contrary to a fundamental component of life--change--to not push so hard against and not put up an inner struggle. Different does not always mean bad. Change does not always mean unpleasantness. That was were my consoling thoughts began. They continued with the fact that the Lord has a plan. Oh how I am thankful for that! There is a reason why New Horizons cant hold all of us; and its not just because they're camp is too small. It's because the Lord has a plan. Whether I get to play bumper ball or get a camp shirt is a petty thought. The bigger picture is how and what the Lord wants to change or strengthen in my life this summer. The core reason for having youth camp is to set that time apart for God, to come together as youth and seek Him. Without His spirit and without His hand in what we do, it is just all a bunch of "activities."
That leads me nicely into the topic of the evanglistic outreach next weekend. but I'm going to back up abit first. After the annoucement, we prayed. We prayed for each of our hearts to be right on the situation and that the Lord would guide the organization of youth camp so that it would be what He wants it to be. Now we can go back to the outreach. I am sii-ked!

That's not all I want to say about it. :-P haha
Dad has breakfast on the table though and after that I've got a history lesson that I didnt get done yesterday calling my name...priorities--food. school. then blogging!
