Weakness
If you asked me to leap
Out of my boat on the crashing waves
A thorn was given me in the flesh, a messenger of Satan to harass me, to keep me from becoming conceited. Three times I pleaded with the Lord about this, that it should leave me. But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
Reality: That is a good thing.
God uses life to reveal my weakness and call me to dependence on Him. Weakness, when embraced, leads to meeting with God's power and it being demonstrated in me.
"For you shall go out in joy
and be led forth in peace...
Instead of the thorn shall come up the cypress;
...and it shall make a name for the LORD,
an everlasting sign that shall not be cut off."
"He is not weak in dealing with you, but is powerful among you. For to be sure, He was crucified in weakness, yet He lives by God's power. Likewise, we are weak... yet by God's power we will live with Him to serve you."
